Access: After I open design view, I cannot open form view from the context (right mouse button) menu. It displays nothing. Why?

Question

When I open design view to make changes to a form, whether I do or do not change anything, right clicking and choosing "form view" closes design view as expected but no form displays. Because I have minimized the interface, the only way to close Access if I have the form in Modal=yes is to control-alt-delete. In order to display the form properly, I must close the design view and either double-click the form from the Navigation Pane or right click on the form and choose form view. This has happened recently, but I do not know how I could have affected the software program in this way. This is more of an annoyance than an emergency, but concerns me.
