I just bought 3 identical micro USB cards, formatted NTFS, then encrypted each with Bitlocker and passphrase. Each time I re-insert the drives (after the passphrase is entered) they automatically re-start the encryption process. The first time this happened I allowed the re-encryption process to complete, but the same symptom occurred afterwards. Ideas?

Try a local account.
BitLocker automatic device encryption is not enabled with local accounts.
This is a stand-alone machine...no roaming accounts...if that is what you are talking about. I believe it is vendor related (ScanDisk 1TB Extreme microUSB). I have other brands of 1TB microUSB drives that use Bitlocker no problem. These are the only ones that automatically encrypt on insertion (each time inserted). I wiped the drives (diskpart) , formatted, then encrypted multiple times.....but they still "re-encrypt" each time they are inserted.
I have decided to return them.
