SMB2 delays enumerating objects

Hi there

We have a server 2019 VM (VMware esxi 7.03 ug) with a shared folder (35gig) multiple folders and files .

The shared folder is part of a DfS replication group

When opening up Excel and clicking on open , browse through pop up explorer window sometimes hangs saying connecting to \server\sharedfolder

When it opens up if we click on the shared folder it also hangs for about 10 seconds saying connecting to \server\sharedfolder

Wireshark traces shows smb2 messages server to client saying smb status pending.and after 10 seconds ..the enumeration of folders comes through

Any ideas will be much appreciated
