Dear all,

We have several servers connected directly on firewall which is working on HA (High Availability Mode- Fortinet). Whenever we observer any failure on link firewall changes from Primary to Secondary and during switchover for brief ports on primary firewall is switched off.

Servers which are connected on firewall are working on Switch Independent , Load Balancing: Dynamic mode.

Now whenever link failure observed that particular server NIC card changes from active to passive. Same time firewall also changes and primary firewall switches off for brief time. Due to which servers connected on same firewall also changes their active ethernet port from primary to secondary.

Now we are observing issue when primary firewall comes alive after brief time lets say 10sec, though the original link is not yet up and firewall also working on secondary firewall.

Now since original firewall is up , Server primary link becomes active and secondary becomes inactive and we loose communication to all devices.

Is there any setting or teaming mode which retains last state until next failure occurs. This setting would have been much helpful.

Thanks in Advance.

Attaching reference connection diagram for your reference. In attached image server B link Z failed so FW1 switched to FW2 and FW will become in off condition for brief time to change all servers connected to change their active ethernet port. But once FW1 is up as secondray and link Z is still down, Server C cant able to reach Server A since its Primary port is up.269640-firewall-issue.png
