Matadata term set not selectable when setting up a site column

I have created a term set (called SPTags) under Search Dictionaries, and populated it.
I am trying to create a site column connecting to this metatag. When I reach the "Use a Managed Term set" and select it, The top level Taxonomy heading shows, as do the Search Directories and my SPTags metadata, but I can't select it.
I've checked that I have proper ownership etc. Should the term set be created in a different place, or different way, to be selectable?

    Correct, when I click on SPTags (or anything else) nothing happens.

    Thank you. Yes, I am in "Use a Managed Term Set" and I see this:-

    I am wanting to select SPTags, but it won't let me select anything.

    Hi @Ormond Stock ,

    According to your description, are you in "Use a Managed Term set" can only see the top-level Taxonomy headings, but cannot find the term set you created? If my understanding is wrong, please contact me in time.

    Based on my research, please click the icon on the left, as shown in the image below, then find the term set you created and select it:
