Hi,

We need to move SSRS ( reporting server from SQL 2012 to SQL 2016 ) and we are on Configuration Manager current branch 2203.

SSRS will be moved to new server and custom reports and subscriptions will be exported. What are the changes we need to do on MECM primary site server to point SSRS reports to new server like registry changes or update new SSRS server name in config file ?

    Read through the docs: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/reporting-services/install-windows/migrate-a-reporting-services-installation-native-mode?view=sql-server-ver16

Basic things to know / have backups of...

    • encryption key
    • Any custom reports
    • You might need to update the datasource on restored reports (if that's what you choose to do).

I think that's all covered in the docs, but basically, read the docs, follow the docs, and you'll be fine.

yes but anything on the MECM site server, we need to update? I understand we might need to delete and re-create report point role but anything else like registry changes?

I don't see anything on their instructions about "change a registry key", so I'm going to go with "no, you don't need to change anything in the registry".

Have you followed the directions, and something failed?
