Basic to Modern Authentication Advice

Question

Thanks - Which would YOU think is the simpler or more sensible approach given Microsoft's impending move to disable Basic Authentication? We have iOS users only.

Migrate all users to the the Outlook Mobile App (Per Microsoft's recommendation) and disable Apple's Mail App (to sidestep having to make adjustments in InTune) or  

Per Microsoft's alternative recommendation; simply change and save the Require Encrypted backups cloud setting, which will upgrade the policy to use modern authentication - thereby maintaining the current status quo?
