SQL Server alerting and reporting

Hello,

I would like to know if there are any free, open source tools out there that can help with SQL Server monitoring, specifically for replication (mirroring/AVG). I’ve seen some issues with mirroring breaking and/or AVG not healthy without knowing or being alerted. I have SCOM setup which currently doesn’t alert on any of these (used more by other teams) and I’m looking for an alternate/augmented option.
