Hi There,
I've created a PPTP VPN Server on Windows 10 (desktop) to which my laptop can successfully connect to (via VPN connection) - yet neither can I browse the internet nor map to the shared drives/folders present on the server from the clients. I followed this guide (https://pureinfotech.com/setup-vpn-server-windows-10/) to a T and tried various combinations of settings yet after 2 days I have not made much progress.
On the Win 10 VPN server - it shows 1 client connected along with the corresponding userID of that client as another network adapter icon yet if I right click the 'user Network Adapter' icon and check properties, it shows 0 packets sent/received. I clearly have the port (1723) forwarded correctly in my router as Its forwarding it to my server as expected since it shows client connected - but why no dataflow!?

    Hello there,

A DNS configuration issue is the most common reason you cannot browse the internet when connected to the VPN. Are you able to ping from the client's devices?

This issue may occur if you configure the VPN connection to use the default gateway on the remote network. This setting overrides the default gateway settings that you specify in the Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) settings.

To resolve this issue, configure the client computers to use the default gateway setting on the local network for Internet traffic and a static route on the remote network for VPN-based traffic.

You can follow the troubleshooting steps from the below article and see if that helps you

Hope this resolves your Query !!
