Why does my Reporting Services Web Service URL not work?

I have installed SQL Server 2019 Developer edition on my Windows 11 PC. And I installed Reporting Services also. I got the report server to say it is "Report Service Status: Started". When I try to access the Web Service URL I get an HTTP Error 500. I can access the Web Portal URL with no problems. I setup the Service Account to use the built-account "Network Service". The Database is using the Login: NT Authority\NetworkService.

Any ideas why the URL is not working?

    Hi @Anonymous
I created the same environment as you, and when I access the Web Service URL and Web Portal URL, I don't get the error you mentioned.

Based on my search, if there is an authentication setting conflict between the report server Web.config file and the RSReportServer.config file, HTTP 401 and HTTP 500 errors are generated. For more details, you can refer to this link: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/previous-versions/sql/sql-server-2008-r2/ms159778(v=sql.105).

If the link I provided for you doesn't work, perhaps you can use the phone service to check your server status more closely and usually solve your problem.

I believe this was a similar problem I asked about in another question in this forum.

I had to reformat my hard drive and reinstall Windows for a hardware problem. Now everything is working as it should. I believe there were corrupted file in my Window OS.
