FTP Folder unable to access

Hai Team,

I'm Facing the issue after changing my FTP port no to 2022 windows IIS FTP. unable to access through internet using public ip

asking for user name password. After login it shows folder permission error.

Error:

200 type set to A

501 server cannot accept argument

Which model you are using now in your client side ? Passive mode or Active mode?
One more thing, which FTP client tool (software) you are using? If you can provide more details, it could help us check the issue.

Active Model is possible for external and internal ip same port number 2022?

we are using browser to access ftp. and

I Don't have idea about Passive Mode

Using Active Model requires that you are familiar with your firewall or other security-related configurations, or are compatible with previous systems.

We recommend using the Passive Model, and we believe that when you switch to the Passive model, your problem will disappear. It is recommended to learn more about the passive model.

Please use a professional FTP client such as FileZilla and stick to FTP passive mode. That's almost always the only feasible way to avoid common FTP configuration issues like this. Other FTP clients (FTP command at command prompt or Internet Explorer/Windows Explorer) might only support active mode and fail to work properly as active mode and firewall settings dislike each other.

Hi stephensagayaraj-5258,

You need to make sure that you have added your FTP service port in firewall to accept the connections from your IP. If you have any restrictions on FTP port then you need to add your local machine IP in allow list of firewall rule under Scope. Secondly make sure FTP user account have necessary permissions on folder you are trying to access. You may try FTP client like FileZilla instead browser as you get better management of folders, files etc. in FileZilla While connecting in FileZilla or any other FTP client, make sure you enter port as 2022 as otherwise it may try to connect on default port. If you have any anti virus or firewall on your local machine then make sure you allow incoming connections from your server IP and also connection on port 2022

I have allowed the port in both windows firewall and also in external hardware firewall. its asking for credentials. which mean its connecting to server. After login in then only we faceing permission issue.

And we don't want to use any third-party FTP clients. we need to slove it in windows FTP it self.
