Why am I unable to sign up for a new account?
If you are having difficulty signing up for a new account (like a student account or an Azure free account), check the account creation troubleshooting documentation to make sure that you meet all the requirements. Sometimes this error is caused simply by having already created a free Azure account (in which case you can create a pay-as-you-go account).
Common issues:
- Is your credit card information correct?
- Is the personal information correct (contact email address, street address, phone number)?
- Have you used that credit card for another account already?
- Have you already used a free trial in the past?
- Do you have another Microsoft account that has the same information?
If you've met all the conditions for a free account and are still running into issues, you can create a support ticket. Sometimes there is information that requires additional verification.
