Two days ago, I had a problem logging into my system. I had to go through recovery where I renamed cmd.exe to utilman.exe in order to have access to Command Processor on the Login screen. The trick worked and I was able to login by changing user's password because the password I have been using stopped working. Here is what I see under Virus & Threat Protection:

Currently, utilman.exe is still cmd.exe. According to my picture, am I having a virus? I did scan windows folder today and it did not show any problem.

Thanks

Each antivirus software has many of the same definitions.

    However there are differences.

It's always best to run multiple checks especially if there was recent malware.

One can run now and another can run overnight while sleeping.

If multiple antivirus checks are made then you can have more confidence in the malware clean.

Download and install the free version of Malwarebytes. Once done, scan your system.
