How many Visio and Project on-premise license is needed for 4 Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) multi-session for 40 users.

Question

Company has created 4 Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and needed Visio and Project license for multi-session for 40 users.
My questions are,

1. Can we purchase Visio and Project on-premise license? Is software assurance needed?
2. If yes for #1, how many Visio and Project license is needed?
3. How to install Visio and Project into these 4 AVD?

Hi

If these are multi-session VMs, then you can only install the following versions of office:

• Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise
• Microsoft 365 Apps for business that comes with a Microsoft 365 Business Premium subscription

My understanding is that this also applies to Project and Visio, so you will need to license these in the same way. You can install these using either the standard Office Installer or the Office Deployment Toolkit. Either way will work. You would be better off installing these as part of a Golden Image first.

Thanks for your advice and link, appreciate the information provided.
I cannot find a definite answer from Microsoft on this too and there are many different versions of reply which I am not sure which is correct and does not violate Microsoft licensing compliance.

Therefore seeking help for anyone who can guide or point me to the Microsoft link that can resolve my enquiry.
