Sentinel HL Driver Installation with Windows Security Profiles
Hi,
We are installing a Sentinel HL security device in a client PC(1st PC). The PC has some client defined security settings, which may have prevented the successful installation of the device driver version 7.6.6. After the system was rebooted, Sentinel HL was listed with a warning icon under "other devices" in Windows Device Manager. The proof that there is nothing wrong with the dongle and the software is our engineer installed exactly the same application software, with the Sentinel 7.6.6 driver in another PC we took to the client's site(2nd PC) with no issues. The 2nd PC did not have any restrictions.
We did call the support personnel of the client's IT team for help, unfortunately they were not able to find out what the problem was. Now as a general rule of thumb, what could be the Windows security related settings, which may have caused the installation to fail in the 1st PC?
I understand this question could be a bit too general, but any hint could help.
Thanks,
Charles
