Password manager on iPhone: Microsoft Authenticator or Edge?

I use Windows (11) and iPhone. What's the recommended way to setup MS password management/autofill so it works best across both platforms? Previously, I have tried to use Authenticator for password autofill, but i continue to run into issue where passwords saved in Edge on Windows are not available on Authenticator autofill on mobile, though they are available in Edge password on mobile. This comes up in situation where a service has both a web interface AND an iOS app that share the same credentials (e.g. nfl.com); the web interface is used on Windows which means Edge has the saved password, but when i try to open app on mobile, Authenticator has no password.

The authenticator docs I found are pretty weak on this subject (i.e. not clear to me) but it seems like this is an actual functional gap. Specifically, while Authenticator and Edge passwords synchronize, its one way: passwords saved in Authenticator sync to (are available in) Edge. Passwords saved in Edge, do not appear to sync to Authenticator.

    Hi @RyanC ,

Have you connected your Microsoft account (which you've used to log in Edge) to Microsoft Authenticator? As for me, in Edge I have my Microsoft account logged in and have turned on sync to synchronize my passwords. So, you'll have the passwords on your iPhone when you save the passwords on Windows 11. Then, I have had that Microsoft account connected to Microsoft Authenticator so that my passwords in Edge will be automatically synchronized to Authenticator. Now, Edge Windows, Edge iPhone and NFL application are all offering to autofill my password (Edge password manager for Windows and Authenticator for iPhone).

If you have connected your Microsoft account to Authenticator before and this issue still exists, I suggest disconnecting the account and reconnecting it. Also, you may need to perform a sync reset in Edge.
