How to solve key vault secret creation from certificate

I have purchased a wild card certificate through the azure portal and I am going through the configuration for it. I'm at the point where I'm configuring the certificate to be added as a secret to key vault. Upon selecting the key vault and commiting I get an error that states "Failed to link certificate with the selected Key Vault. Check below errors for more detail.: The parameter name has an invalid value." There are no errors other than what is displayed in the prompt despite it saying "check below errors for more detail.
Any help would be appreciated.
