I am configuring Hyper-V cluster. We do not use SCVMM but cluster manager. I have two nodes let's say Node01 and Node02. Each node have 4 NIC card.

  1. On node01 NIC1 and NIC2 have been teamed for OS Management Network, this is Access port
  2. One node01 NIC3 and NIC4 have been configured as TRUNK port for VM network
  3. On node02 NIC1 and NIC2 have been teamed for OS Management Network, this is Access port
  4. One node02 NIC3 and NIC4 have been configured as TRUNK port for VM network
  5. I have created identitical switch for TRUNK port NIC, Switch name is "VM-Network" Now if I check in cluster -->Networks then I see that ACCESS port (NIC1,NIC2) have been configured for Cluster communication and Live migration both. While the second network which is from TRUNK ports does not work for live migration. I also assigned an IP to TRUNK port NIC but that does not seem to be working. How can I use TRUNK port for live migration as well??

Ok, I fixed it. You need to assign an IP to TRUNK port HyperV-V network switch, do not assign gateway or DNS, just assign IP and subnet and then add the IP VLAN number in Hyper-V switch.
