Unable to log in with Authenticator app

When I try to log in to my Microsoft account, it tells me to verify the code via my authenticator app.

It looks like I have the account added to my app but nothing pops up and it doesn't give me a code.

I am the only admin for my tenant because I've never been able to log in to set up another.

I cannot re-add the account to my app on my phone because my phone tells me I need to enter the code from the app, which I cannot get because it won't let me sign in without entering a code!

I have managed to change the password on the account hoping that might help, but after successfully changing it and attempting to log in, I'm back in the same loop of being unable to sign in without a code and not being able to get a code without signing in.

How can I log in or temporarily remove 2FA from my admin account?

Thank you.

If you are the only global admin on the account and are blocked entirely, you can reach out to the Azure Data Protection team to restore access. 866-807-5850

Also you can create an emergency access account in Azure AD. This account will help prevent being accidentally locked out of your Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) organization because you can't sign in for any reason.
