Cannot login with domain account to a Azure VM after changing the password

Hello,

I'm having trouble connecting to an Azure VM via remote desktop using the domain admin user account. This problem began after I changed the password.

We are running Windows 2016 on our VMs, and this VM has a local active directory.

As a result, we do not use any Azure services to authenticate users.

We have another user with lower privileges who has a successful RDP connection, so the problem is not with RDP.

  1. Is there some way to reset the Domain Admin account password?
  2. Is there some way to create and add a new user as a Domain Admin account?
  3. Or there is some other solution to this problem?!

    Do you have a service account that is a member of the Domain Admin group that you could log in with to change the pwd for the main Domain Admin account?

    Hello

    Thank you for your question and reaching out. I can understand you are having query\issues related to Azure VM login.

    Do you have any Enterprise Admin password or account created while setup AD.

    Do you have any Backup of this VM so that you can restore it to from backup.

    @Blagojche Kitanovski

    Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Q&A. Kindly try to login with local admin on the VM. If you don't have one then try follow Reset the local administrator account password or Reset the local administrator account password via powershell.

    Please do let me know if you have any further queries in the comments section.

    Thanks,
