Good day

We are currently experiencing in our environment many automatic function update to Windows 22H2, which was not released by us.

The Windows updates are basically managed by the Configuration Manager and the policies are set accordingly.

  1. KB5015684:

Is not available in WSUS, Configuration Manager.

  1. according to the WindowsUpdate.log of an affected client, this update is part of the cumulative update (see attachment).
  2. we do not have an active Windows Feature Enablement Deployment active

How can it be that the feature update to Windows 10 22H2 is performed automatically, although not released by us?

    Hi @Obrist Nicola,

we do not have an active Windows Feature Enablement Deployment active.

SCCM and WSUS will not deploy any updates automatically if you have not configured anything. Could you please upload a full Windowsupdate.log for our reference?

Besides, according to the official article description, the update KB5015684 will be downloaded and installed automatically from Windows Update. The update is named Feature Update to Windows 10, version 22H2.

1, According to the logs your provided, your client can still get updates from Windows Update and Microsoft Update. As mentioned in the previous reply, “This update will be downloaded and installed automatically from Windows Update”. Please help check whether the upgraded client meets the following prerequisites. If so, these clients may be upgraded automatically.

Before updating to Windows 10, version 22H2 using an enablement package, you must be running Windows 10, version 2004, 20H2, or 21H1. You must have the following prerequisites installed before applying this update:

    Thanks for your time!
