Failed to fetch billing info

As part of a new project, I am setting up a resource group with all relevant services.
One such service is Azure Synapse Analytics which is deployed and ready to go.

For this particular project we are going with notebooks, hence we need an Apache Spark pool. But when I try to add a new pool, I am blocked because the wizard fails to fetch billing information. See attached screenshots.

Seems to me there is a part of the service that is cut of on the back end, or am I missing something?

    Hi Jens Vestergaard,

Sorry for your experience and thank you for using Microsoft Q&A forum for reporting this issue.

I just tried to verify if there is any ongoing issue going on with Synapse Analytics, hence tried to create an Apache spark pool in Synapse (region West US2) from Azure Portal but I don't see any warning/error as yours.

Sometimes it could be a transient issue and may go away if you try to clear your cache, restart your browser and try again. Could you please retry clearing cache and restarting the browser and let us know if the issue still persists.
Workaround: If you trying to create Spark pool from Azure Portal->Synapse and having issue from Azure Portal then can you please try to create a Spark pool from your Synapse Studio (Not Azure Portal) as below:

I would recommend try creating from both Azure portal and Synapse Studio and see if any of it works and unblock you.
    Reference docs:

    1. Create the Apache Spark pool in Synapse Studio
    2. Create a new serverless Apache Spark pool using the Azure portal

Workaround 2: To workaround you may also try creating an Apache Spark pool using Azure Synapse REST APIs. For more information on how to create please refer to this article: Azure Synapse Analytics Apache Spark REST APIs

If the issue persists and if you are not able to create Apache Spark pools even using any of the above workarounds, then I recommend filing a support ticket for deeper investigation. In case if you don't have a support plan, please let me know so that I can check on alternate options to further assist you to unblock from this issue.

In the meantime, I am also reaching out to internal team to check if there is any ongoing issue while trying to create new Apache spark pools and will keep you posted as soon as hear back from them.

    Thank you
