My ethernet claims "no internet" but my internet still works.

My PC is connected to the internet via ethernet, and it consistently claims that I have no internet and switches automatically to the wifi connection from the same router. However, if I disconnect from the wifi and only use the ethernet connection, I am still able to use the internet despite it thinking I have no internet. How do I keep it from assuming I have no internet when I do and switching to wifi instead of ethernet?

First make sure you haven't changed the metric for the ethernet connection:

If you temporarily disable your wireless network adapter and connect via ethernet, do you still get the same error message? If yes, run the troubleshooter and report the Windows result or post a screenshot.
