Can I use Defender for cloud apps to monitor internal webapp usage?

Is it possible to monitor or even create policies including condtional access for an internal WebApp? In a managed domain.

I have something like, app.mydomain.com to be monitored. But since is in my managed domain I can't see it, even creating a custom app with the URL above. I don't think it is possible due to be in my managed domains but would have something else that could be done?

I just want to know if it is possible to monitor my internal webapp as a Custom App in the Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps. If so, where are some documentation for that.

Hi Alex,

I believe not for internal on-premise app. should be possible if the application is migrated to Azure app service. Defender for cloud apps also covers third party SAAS apps, the way they do it is through connectors that interact with the app API for defender to collect data and enforce policies. i could be wrong but havent seen an connectors to on premise web apps
