How to stop config manager site

Hi, does anyone know how an administrator would "stop" a ConfigMgr site? i have looked online and found other sites explaining how to stop the sms_executive service on the primary site server, however we seem to have 4 instances of that service in the site (only a primary site server with 3 management points and DP's etc). Would you have to stop that service on each server in any order? Are there other services which need to be stopped after smsexecutive?

I cant find anything in the official MSFT documentation other than Preinst.exe /STOPSITE, but that mentions "flagging some services for reinstalltion" which seems a bit overkill if you just want to stop the site temporarily? is it safe to do that?

Any help gratefully received. thanks.

Stopping smsexec will result in stopping all relavant Configuration Manager services.

    Hi @Nick Davies

1, In my experience, there is no order to stop that service.

2, Are these machines specifically for SCCM? If so, we can just take these servers offline. For example, turn off the NIC driver or shut down the computer. If you want to enable them again, you just need to get them online.

    Thanks for your time!

    Best regards,
    Cherry
