APT2144 invalid file path

VS 2022 Preview... Trying to build and run "Notes" tutorial getting 2 APT2144 invalid file path error in file Xamarin.Android.Aapt2.targets. Error message gives a file path, which I can find using File Explorer. Help on error message says it can't be found. The files that are referenced "mauisplashimage.xml" and "maui_colors.xml" are in the specified path.
What's causing this error and how do I correct it.
