@Upasana Ghosh Thanks for posting, in Microsoft Q&A. I quickly looked at the attached policy snippet and want to confirm about statement Make two identical API requests. If you want to check Cache-Controlheader and make two Http requests, you can use send-request policy. Here is doc reference: Send request and sample scenarios are covered here.

Meaning you can insert send-request policy in when conditions and validate based on your need. However, this would add complexity to the policy since multiple requests are made in the outbound section.

Do you have any sample policies which will contain all the directives for http caching? fr example if i want to set If-Modified-Since in the policy how do i do it ?

Upasana Ghosh Unfortunately, we don't have sample policies specifically for Cache-Controlheader. If you like to set any header in request or response, use set-header policy either in inbound or outbound section respectively and here is an example policy snippet for If-Modified-Since (use C# expression for different formatting):

<set-header name="If-Modified-Since" exists-action="override"> <value>@(DateTime.UtcNow.ToString())</value> </set-header>

This can be changed for other headers or write custom conditions to set it based on your use case. Let me know if you have any questions.
