It depens on your business complexity. ( i assume you migrate from local to Azure).
If the current one running well.
then, you should to consider the application DBs, the stageDB, any ETL,
DW, any reporting services reply on it ....
- Applications DBs, any plan to migrate to Azure ,if not, any subscription for those DBs, need to use some middle layer DB combine data gateway on-premises, you can call it pre-stageDB whatever you like.
- ETL , if use 3rd solution, if so, be better to consultant this process, if wrorte by youself, might easy to verify.
- any SSIS package deployed, you have to upgrade the SSIS solution to use Azure enabled one.
- Schema need to be verified, and if any acess right defintion applied.
- quite many factors you should consider.
- you need a small team if you don't have much time or if you don't have enough access right.
If the business rules need to be redefined, make sure the team members who involve the project have perfect understanding of the business.
