Hi team,

Our company has software products (e.g programmers, IDEs) for embedded development. And we have several drivers that are installed with these products.

But many our customers are still using Windows 7 and 8.1, which are of date.

So, we have a question - can we publish a new driver version for Windows 7/8.1 on Windows Update?

Do we need HCK setup to pass certification tests etc. ?

Thanks,

Volodymyr

    Hello,

That is correct. All drivers, for any edition of Windows needs to be certified to be included in Windows Update. The process is complex, so I would recommend checking the whole process in this official article:

    Thanks,

But then, where I can get the latest version of Windows Hardware Certification Kit? - I can't find it on Hardware Dev Center:

    https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/hardware/

    There is only Windows HLK

Forget, found on HCK User's Guide page
