Is there a problem with the monthly 2023-01 Security Monthly Quality Rollup In Windows Server 2012 R2?

We have two servers in separate locations that run Windows Server Essentials 2012 R2 for their operating system.

We have applied many fully working, trouble-free Windows updates to these servers over the years (WSE 2012 R2).  However, now both of them fail when trying to process the "2023-01 Security Monthly Quality Rollup for Windows Server 2012 R2 for x64-based systems (KB5022352)."

We have attempted to install the problem update file multiple times, but in every case it is flagged in Update History with a status of "failed."  Also, when this update begins to run it indicates that no progress is made (zero KB total, zero percentage complete).

Can anyone offer suggestions that might remove this persistent problem?  We are concerned that needed security patches in WSE 2012 R2 are not being installed on the servers.

unfortunately there isn't a single command to solve path installation problems. troubleshooting is required. you can follow the recommended steps in this doc.
