Azure MySQL hangs periodically

Having a problem that periodically (few times a day) my mysql database in azure appears to hang. I'm connecting via a VPN into the environment from my local PC running MySQL Workbench, and the workbench app hangs whilst running a query.
I'm relatively confident that it isn't a networking issue, as when I look at the monitoring tab on the Azure portal I can see what appears to be a period where the monitoring tools weren't able to collect data from the instance either (see the .... in the graphs of the image attached).
The problem seems to resolve itself without having to restart the service, but it is very frustrating as the queries running at the time all abort.
Is this a known issue? Any thoughts on how to resolve or troubleshoot it?

2023-02-08T00:52:12.4333333+00:00 Hi Oury - it isn't hanging on a specific query. It just seems to "go to sleep" for a while from time to time, and I only notice it when I try to do a query against the data. Can be a really simple select statement and the system hangs.

Are you using an Azure MYSQL single server or MYSQL flexible server.?
It could be an issue with high CPU utilization with your Azure Database for MYSQL.
To determine whether your server is experiencing high CPU utilization, monitor metrics such as “Host CPU percent”, “Total Connections”, “Host Memory Percent”, and “IO Percent”. Besides capturing metrics, it’s important to also trace the workload to understand if one or more queries are causing the spike in CPU utilization. Troubleshoot high CPU utilization in Azure Database for MySQL
Ensure that your database has enough resources allocated to run your queries. At times, you may need to scale up the instance size to get more CPU cores to accommodate your workload.
Could you please take a screen shot of your Azure MYSQL configuration page?
