This problem is back AGAIN in 2023 in Teams version 1.5.00.23861 on Linux (Ubuntu).
Invitation links won't open anymore on my desktop app... the "Join On The Teams App" button on the website does NOT work and then quickly redirects to the web-interface to join the meeting....
I have tried to downgrade to an older version of Microsoft Teams... but Microsoft deleted all 1.4.00.* and 1.3.00.* versions from their repository. So there is no way to downgrade right now to resolve this problem.
Unbelievable that this is not caught by any tests...

Yes, you're right! I did a test in my environment and it seems join on the Teams app option broken. If you click this option, it will still continue to join the Teams meeting via web client.
We will do more investigations on this issue. And if there is any new information about it, we will update it here.

Same issue, hoping MS comes up with a fix soon. Or maybe puts the 1.4 version back in the repo.

I was able to download the version 14 from the archive (https://web.archive.org/web/20221130114844/https://packages.microsoft.com/repos/ms-teams/pool/main/t/teams/teams_1.4.00.13653_amd64.deb) but still not working.
Maybe someone else could also try with this older version, to discard it's a problem with my particular config.

I had a meeting in another organization's Teams where, unlike our own, I must follow a link just to get in, and it opens on the webapp instead, which wouldn't be so bad, but it refused to give me audio this time, despite settings listing the correct devices and every other website (and the "native" application) working fine (Chrome on RHEL9). This is killing me. Please fix this ASAP.

Almost 2 months now with no fix; this is really disappointing, considering it is a breaking change. The ability to not be able to join Teams Meetings via links is far from helpful.

For people trying to launch teams from the command line with the URL as argument replacing https:// with teams:// at the start, it does not work. Neither from the wrapper script /usr/bin/teams nor from the executable at /usr/share/teams/teams.

I'm having the exact same issue on ubuntu 22.04 with teams 1.5.00.23861.
In addition to the above issues, I am getting an undefined error on the app.

I have the same, consistent for a month or two now, download for latest deb from microsoft is a broken link. M$oft paying lip service to linux support but not delivering. Very frustrating.

This is just a typical well tested, well distributed application from M$. Teams is, as with everyone else here totally broken in terms of the app. I have tried the deb (which I managed to find via a round about way because the web site to download it just throws a 404!!!) and the snap installation on neon and neither of them work.
When I log into my account from the snap it just tells me to download the app (even though I'm already in the app!!!) and that goes to the 404 page, and the only way I can open a meeting is via the web page because NOTHING fires up the app it seems.
From the web page I can't screen share, so it a total bust.
No wonder everyone is abandoning this company.
