My trackpad is not working how to I fix it?

My trackpad is not working. I went into device manager and it said that 12C HID Device could not start. I think that may be the problem but does anyone have any suggestions? Trying to fix this without having to buy another computer.

    -Press Windows key + X
    -Go to Device Manager
    -Expand the Human Interface Device
    -Look for HID Touchpad driver that was installed
    -Right click and Update.

    Alternatively, you could download and install the related driver from the support site of the manufacturer.

    1. Please try to update your driver. Right-click the Windows start > select Device Manager > Find the Human Interface Device and expand it > Right-click the trackpad driver and select update. If that didn't work, follow the same steps but instead of updating, right-click and select uninstall. Restart your computer.
    2. Install all pending updates for your Windows.
