Hello,

Actually I'm experiencing one issue thing is that I have created one local domain like abc.com with internal DNS server but my internal domain name is same like external domain abc.com. Our sister company they are managing our domain. have Microsoft exchange server and they generate email accounts for us when I try to add a account in outlook, it does not work if i use my internal DNS server. but when i try to login via URL keep staying in internal dns server and when i go to google enter exchange server URL from there i can sign in and even when if I use any external DNS like 8.8.8.8, it works successfully. Once outlook is connected, I remove the external DNS Server and it keeps working and sometimes I have to remove that device from local domain and then I connect outside NAT mean out of my network it woks one done again I add that device in my local domain and it keep working.

Please if anyone can assist me regarding above issue. As I just entered in system administration.

Thanks,

It sounds like you're having issues connecting to your Microsoft Exchange server using your local DNS server. This could be because the configuration of your local DNS server is not properly set up to resolve the exchange server's hostname to its IP address.

To resolve this issue, you can try the following steps:

    1. Check the hostname and IP address of the exchange server and make sure they are correct and can be resolved by your local DNS server.
    2. Check the firewall and network settings to ensure that the device running Outlook is able to connect to the exchange server.
    3. Verify that the correct hostname or IP address of the exchange server is entered in the "Server" field in Outlook when setting up the email account.
    4. If the issue persists, you may want to consider using an external DNS server such as 8.8.8.8 temporarily to connect to the exchange server and then switch back to your local DNS server once the connection is established.
    5. If the issue still persists, you may want to consider contacting Microsoft support for assistance.

It's important to keep in mind that your internal domain name being the same as your external domain name could also be causing some issues, as it can cause confusion for both your local DNS server and for devices trying to connect to your exchange server. Consider changing your internal domain name to a unique name if possible.

    Hi @Anonymous ,

Based on your description, it appears that the Exchange server and the DNS you are using are not in the same domain.

it does not work if i use my internal DNS server

Can I understand that logging in to the Outlook client using your internal computer shows that you cannot connect to Exchange Server?

If so, I wonder if you created an Autodiscover record in your internal DNS to point to this Exchange server?

Moreover, if the above is not your scenario or I have misunderstood anything, please correct me and provide us with detailed information about the issue so that we can better understand to further assist you.

Your patience and cooperation are highly appreciated.
