We are running Print Management on Windows Server 2016 and would like to manage the print job names allowed to be sent to a specific queue.

e.g.:

Print queue name = ESIG_OUT

Only allow jobs with a title that begins with "ESIG ONLY ********"

The issue is, if a normal print job is sent to the queue it will Error out and lock up the queue, at this time we wait until a user notifies us and we manually delete any erroneous jobs.

Hi. Thank you for your question and reaching out. I’d be more than happy to help you with your query

You can manage the print job names allowed to be sent to a specific queue in Print Management on Windows Server 2016 by setting up a custom validation rule. To do this, open the Print Management console, right-click the queue you want to configure, and select the Properties option. On the Advanced tab, click the New button to create a new validation rule. The validation rule should be set to validate the job name, and in the right-hand pane you can specify the list of allowed job names.
