Sharepoint 2019 presents login page twice when logging in with claims provider

Question

We recently migrated from Sharepoint 2016 to 2019. We are using a claims provider that does external authentication. The issue is that we are seeing the login drop-down page twice. See scenario:

Enter URL to the Sharepoint site into the browser -> Login dropdown page is presented -> Select the claims authentication provider -> redirected to the claims authenticator website where the user logs in successfully ->

(issue) when the external authentication provider sends the user back to the Sharepoint site the Login drop-down is presented again -> if you select the claims authenticator again it logs the user in successfully

Why am i getting the drop-down menu twice?

Hi @Daniel Liverette

1.Please check which are configured for your web application.
Central administration > Manage web applications > select web app > authentication provider.

2.You could try to change the authentication provider in CA for each application to NTLM, then back to Negotiate(Kerberos).
