Can I retrieve the logged in username from Edge?

Question

I wanted to ask if there's a way to retrieve the currently logged in user from Edge; I have a web app and wish to retrieve the username for login.

 

There was a method used in Internet Explorer (ActiveXObject), however I am hoping that there is another method for Edge.

I was reading your case scenario and I am not quite sure, but here are my 2 cents so, I wonder if you have tried to press F12 on the Edge Browser and then start using the features available as the next image is showing down below as reference:

Unfortunately, you cannot retrieve the logged-in username from Edge, because this would be an issue for security. Edge, and other modern browsers attach great importance to security.
