Teams Milestones - Can I add guests from outside organisations?

I have created a Team which includes people from outside organisations.

They seem unable to see the Milestones tab I created. Is this because they are from an outside organisation with different permissions? If so, is there a way for me to grant them permission?

    Hi @Sarah Hampson

It's possible that the external users in your team don't have the necessary permissions to view the Milestones tab. By default, external users in a team have limited access to team content, and may not be able to see all the tabs or channels in the team.

To grant external users permission to view the Milestones tab, you can try the following steps:

    1. Make sure that the Milestones tab is visible to all team members. You can check this by selecting the "Manage team" option from the ellipsis menu (...) next to your team name, and then selecting the "Settings" tab. Under "Member permissions," make sure that the "Allow members to create and update channels" option is set to "On."
    2. Grant external users access to the Milestones tab. You can do this by selecting the "Manage team" option from the ellipsis menu (...), and then selecting the "Members" tab. Find the external users that you want to grant access to, and click on the ellipsis menu (...) next to their name. Select "Manage user" and then "Change member permissions." Set the "Milestones" option to "On."
    3. If the external users are still unable to see the Milestones tab, you may need to grant them access to the underlying SharePoint site for the team. To do this, you can select the "Manage team" option from the ellipsis menu (...), and then select the "Settings" tab. Under "External sharing," select "Allow sharing only with external users that already exist in your organization's directory."

After you've completed these steps, the external users in your team should be able to see the Milestones tab. However, keep in mind that external users may have additional limitations on what they can do within the team, depending on their organization's policies and settings.

    Hope that helps.

    Regards,

    T
