Windows 10 22H2 feature update is not being offered by Intune

Hi everyone,

All my devices are the same make/model(Dell Latitude 3520), Windows 10, same device group and Intune MEM/AAD joined. I have set Update Ring to delivery Quality/Feature updates automatically on Intune. Some devices are not being offered the Feature update 22H2 but are receiving the Quality updates normally. If I check updates it says Device updated. This is affecting more than 40 devices.

Is anyone have any idea what can be done?

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Q&A forum.

1,Please help check if the Microsoft Account sign-in assistant (MSA or wlidsvc) service is disabled. When the MSA service is disabled, Windows Update no longer offers feature updates to devices that are running Windows 10, version 1709 or a later version, but servicing and definition updates can install successfully. For more information, please refer to:

Feature updates are not offered on Intune-managed Windows 10 devices

2,Please help check the WindowsUpdate.log to see if there is any useful information.

Thanks for your time. Have a nice day!

    Best regards,

    Simon

    Hi Simon, thanks for replying.

1- This is the setting we push to the devices via Intune.

This is the wlidsvc service status on the affected machine

2 - I will need to split the WindowsUpdate.log in two parts, because of the size.

    WindowsUpdate (2).log

    WindowsUpdate (1).log

    Thanks

    Hello there,

This issue occurs if the Microsoft Account sign-in assistant (MSA or wlidsvc) service is disabled. The DCAT Flighting service (ServiceId: 855E8A7C-ECB4-4CA3-B045-1DFA50104289) relies on the MSA to get the global device ID for the device. If the MSA service isn't running, the global device ID is not generated and sent by the client. Therefore, the search for feature updates never completes successfully.

Feature updates are not offered on Intune-managed Windows devices https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/troubleshoot/mem/intune/device-configuration/windows-feature-updates-never-offered

Hope this resolves your Query !!

    Hi,

    Thanks for your reply.

There is no further useful information in the log. For further troubleshooting, we can check whether the Intune policy has been successfully deployed and applied to the target device. Check the settings in the Registry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\PolicyManager\current\device\Update.

Thanks for your time. Have a nice day!

    Best regards,

    Simon
