Is there a better way to read & plot shape file data on Map?

Hi,
Currently I'm using " Microsoft.Maps.GeoJson.read(data)" to read shape file but it takes lot of time to read even if file size is 4 MB. So I'm looking for a better way to read & plot data faster.Is there any sample code available for the same
