Hi, I am not able to sign into my facebook account because the authenticator sends an eight digit password, but facebook reqires a six digit password. Have recently switched over from iphone 7 to SE. Had a hard time accessing the authenticator in my new phone. I needed to re-login in facebook after virus-check.
In the list I can see that this problem is known and not new at all. Can please someone answer or solve??

Check that you're using the proper authenticator app. Facebook suggests using Google Authenticator, but other apps work as well. If you've recently switched phones, the authenticator app may not be properly synced. You may need to reinstall the app. If everything fails, another option is to disable and then re-enable 2FA on Facebook.
