Will add in registry "ForcedPhysicalSectorSizeInBytes" affect any other programs ?

Regarding on this article , posted by Microsoft recently tell us that we can simulate and force the 16KB sector size into 4KB, will adding this registry cause any issue to my Laptop / PC ?

There is no other post or news updated regarding about this registry, was it save to use ?
