Is there an official document from Microsoft clarifying the license requirements for Defender for Server?

I already saw some answers to questions like "How to add Microsoft Defender for Endpoint Server license to servers?" (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/207273/how-to-add-microsoft-defender-for-endpoint-server), but these answers all are just descriptions of what someone heard from their vendor or read on some blog.

What I need is an "official" document from Microsoft that I can show my internal license reviewers and that tells them without a doubt that just buying the licenses for the amount of servers we onboarded is all what we can do to be "license compliant".

For many products I can find a "licensing guide" that describes what Microsoft expects me to do and defines the rules and procedures that I must follow.

Is there such an official guide for "Microsoft Defender for Endpoint Server"?

    Hi @Sven Erik Matzen ,

We do not have an official guide, and licensing questions are handled by a separate team (not on Q&A). It is free to reach out to them through the global support numbers, though. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/global-customer-service-phone-numbers-c0389ade-5640-e588-8b0e-28de8afeb3f2

The recommendation, though, is to transition to the Microsoft Defender for Servers P1 SKU. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/defender-for-cloud/plan-defender-for-servers
