So I have added 5 disks into a stroage pool, then created a virtual disk where i have added them together, i made a mirror, then created a volumes for data with 5GB. Now the volumes of 5GB is already full, so I added extra disk to storage pool and extended my volume, but what I am worry about is that- what if i messed up the data in the volume when adding the extra disk, in this case how should I keep the backup for the old data? I dont want to lose them in case something happen when i try to do something or it get crash.

Whats the solution to keep backup for the strorage pool?

    Hello there,

You can try the Windows backup service.

Windows Server Backup does not differentiate a storage pool from other storage. Therefore the presence of a storage pool (both in the online mode and offline Windows RE mode) and its storage space(s) are handled by Windows Server Backup in the same way as normal disks and volumes. Windows Server Backup can be used for any backup or recovery operations either to or from storage pool disks.

It is important to note that the physical disks assigned to a storage pool are hidden from Windows. This means that Windows Server Backup (Windows Server Backup) and Automated System Recovery (ASR) are not able to enumerate the physical disks. After the pool is created a storage administrator can use the pool as a basis on which to create a virtual disk.
