When I try to open my laptop (Windows 7)....it says "Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem: 1. Insert your Windows installation disk and restart your computer. 2. Choose your language settings, then click "Next." 3. Click " Repair your computer " If you do not have this disk, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance. Status: 0xc000000f Info: The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible. " I don't have the installation disk and I don't know how to contact "my system administrator or computer manufacturer"

In order to repair a Windows 7 computer without a Windows installation disk you may be able to use:
a)safe mode
b)system restore
c)reset save files
c)non-Windows rescue disks:

Bob Omb
Hiren's
Gandalf's

However before performing any repair the disk drive must be tested.
If the disk drive fails testing then backup files and replace the disk drive.
If the disk drive passes testing the comment on the status of the important files.

1)What are the status of the important computer files?
a) files backed up to another disk drive or the cloud
b) images backed up to another disk drive or the cloud
c) no backed up files or images; files need to be backed up
d) no backed up files or images; there are no files that need to be backed up

2)Find some flash drives that you can format.
Or find a friend, neighbor, relative, Amazon, or local computer store for flash drives.

3)Find a working Windows computer.
.

4)On the working Windows computer create tools that you can use on the problematic computer.

5)If you are able to perform the above steps then steps can be posted to either troubleshoot, test the drive, backup files, etc.

If no install CD or DVD is available, you can boot into Safe Mode and run System Restore. Before you begin, note that you can't undo a restore if you run it from Safe Mode. Or, you can run System Restore via the System Recovery Options menu: Turn the computer and press the F8 key as above.
