Hi,

We have 8 domain controllers, I can see some have not updated their SRV records under _msdcs>dc>sites

the records are upto 8 months old.

will these get deleted if I enable scavenging?

Thanks

    Hello there,

Yes SRV records will be deleted.

You configure the Scavenging Cycle and Aging (No Refresh and Refresh interval) appropriate to your environment and wait for the Scavenging cycle to delete your records.

Microsoft's Best practice analyser recommends scavenging enabled on all DNS servers. However, with AD-integrated zones, it doesn't particularly matter since it handles if the record is deleted from one name server and deleted from another at the same time before replication kicks in.

DNS: Scavenging: Records aren't deleted if scavenging manually disabled with DNSCMD

Hope this resolves your Query !!
