Shared Folder Email Link Login Issues.

This is suppose to be setup so that with just my email, I click the link, enter my email, and request a one time login code.

Selected user account does not exist in tenant 'xxx' and cannot access the application '0000'...The account needs to be added as an external user in the tenant first. Please use a different account.

So I have not had this issue the last time a folder was shared from this organization in Dec 22. Now I keep getting this issue. They said they have reset my ID on their end.

Here is the other frustrating part. Unless I open the link with an incognito tab, I cannot get the one time code option. Instead it asks if I want to use my business or personal account setup by my IT department. Here is the thing, we don't have an IT department. If I click personal, I get the same error. If I click business, it takes me to GoDaddy login screen... I again do not have an Office 365 email, my email is setup through G Suite. So of course when I try to reset password through GoDaddy for said email address, I get a message that the account does not exist.

I already disabled the the authenticator 2 step login Microsoft made me use last time I was accessing my Office 2019 volume licenses. However I also did not have this issue last December.

Also, I can go back to the original invitation email and click the link, it takes me to there page saying thanks for registering. However this does not change anything.

Is this simply an error on their end? Or is Microsoft really this screwed up? Wasted hours looking for an answer, calling their login tech support ect.

    Hi @Colton McClure ,

This case is relatively complicated and I could not reproduce it, I also could not get some inspiration according to the error.

So to help you better, I suggest you can create a new service request in Microsoft 365 admin center as an admin, and more professional will help you.

(Microsoft 365 admin center ->> Support ->> New service request)
