I'd like to start by stating I'm very new to managing Windows and even newer to managing Windows Server.

According this article "https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/lifecycle/products/windows-server-2019" server 2019 is supported till 01-09-2024

According to this article, "https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/release-health/status-windows-10-1809-and-windows-server-2019" Windows Server 2019 (and windows 10 v1809) are no longer getting security updates.

When I run the "winver" command from my 2019 server it shows v1809 as well. I check for Windows Updates and none are found. Am I understanding that Windows Server 2019 doesn't receive any security updates and that there is not a newer version of Server 2019 (for example 22H2)?

Additionally, if the above is accurate, what support is Microsoft actually offering for their 2019 Server Edition?

Windows Server 2019

Windows Server 2019 will get updates until Jan 2024. After that date it will continue to get security and critical updates until Jan 2029 (10 years) but will not receive new features. This is standard for Server OSes.

At this point if you're running a Server 2019 machine then you are fine until 2029. If you are looking at setting up a new server you should consider looking at Server 2022 instead which is the newer version and will remain in mainstream support until 2027 (estimated). However if you already have a 2019 license and want to stick with it then you can. But since 204 is coming up fast it probably makes sense to switch to 2022 to avoid having to readdress this in a few years.
