Migrate documents from Server Share to Teams

We are in the process of migrating our document storage from server shares to teams. In the past, I used file explorer and just copied the files over. In this situation, I have TBs of documents which may take some time and be prone to interruptions and restarts. In the past I used a third party app to help with this. I will be setting up new permissions, so I don't need to migrate that info over. Is there a better way to migrate the documents over?

    Hi @Stephen Weber

Kindly note that we mainly focus on general usage questions about Microsoft Teams, since your question may be more related to development, I have added the related tags for better support.

If you are looking for Microsoft solution on this question, to me you may consider using Graph Api to develop an application or scripts to upload files to the corresponding Sharepoint sites to achieve this goal.

Here are some documentations which may be helpful:

Upload or replace the contents of a DriveItem

    driveItem: createUploadSession
