i posted this on the general microsoft community and i was referred here so let's try this one more time the problem started when i tried to log into my school account that's connected to outlook on my new phone. it told me i needed to receive verification from microsoft authenticator to be able to log in successfully, which thinking back on it now, makes no sense because i entered my password correctly so why should i have had to log in twice. i went to microsoft authenticator and entered my username and password correctly, but it was telling me i needed to receive verification from microsoft authenticator...while i was trying to log into microsoft authenticator...i don't understand how i'm supposed to use an app that requires me to log in if i am not being allowed to log in. all i know is that apparently the app is on steroids which has effectively blocked me from any communication with my teachers or announcements from my school which is no good. i have tried on my computer, tablet, and phone, and i am stuck. i would go to my school administration but seeing as this is a problem with the app and not with the school itself, i figured they would refer me here so here i am. nothing on my school's website tells me what i should do about this issue. do i need to factory reset my phone? is there another authenticator app i should use? please help, i am losing it.

You, or more likely, your school admin will need to reset the device here in order to allow a new QR code to be generated so you can relink the device.
